«I always put myself in the shoes of others and look through their eyes»
Today, in an interview as part of the Contemporary Woman project, we talked to Tetiana Listushka, a master of aesthetic hair and scalp beauty, about business and beauty, what to choose to make your hair look luxurious, and the values that have become the main ones in life.

Ms. Tetiana, your life's work gives women the opportunity to feel even more beautiful. You look very inspiring in the role of a master of aesthetic hair beauty. I propose to open the curtain of your personal story today. What was your path to the present day?
I have a medical degree and worked for a long time in a sanitary and epidemiological station. Because of my low salary, I was looking for something that would allow me to have a free schedule and express my creativity. I started doing hair back in 2017 with a three-year-old child. My son was often sick, I was constantly on sick leave and in the other room I was making the girls' hair beautiful. In 2021, I opened a studio and got pregnant again on an airplane, and then the war broke out. And in 2023 we reopened and now our clients come to us from different countries.

I associate modern women with the ocean. They are strong and gentle at the same time, they change the vision, inspire, decorate and demonstrate insane indestructibility. How do you see the image of a woman today?
A woman of steel. Nowadays women have become even more independent and a lot has fallen on their fragile shoulders. She will go through fire and water, and after a man, and instead of a man. She works like a man and can even earn more than a man.
You are the owner of a studio, you provide training. Business is not always easy. This is a story of both ups and downs. What is your personal secret to success?
I have taken many courses on running a business, but I still do everything by intuition - this is probably the difference between a businesswoman and a businessman. I treat my staff the way I would like to be treated. The service in the studio is the same as I would like to receive myself. And so it is in everything. I always put myself in the shoes of others and see through their eyes.

Your dedication as a mentor is inspiring. What are the values that underpin your role as a teacher of masters? What advice would you give to those who are just at the beginning of their beauty journey?
I always explain the most complicated terms in simple words and give examples from life. I treat each student like a child. My student is an extension of me, and it's in my best interest to make her a great nail technician. My advice for those who want to dive into this beauty element is to start using social media in advance, because this platform will advertise you. You have to open up there, because the client is not going for a procedure, but for a person.

Hair is always a special decoration in a woman's image. What advice would you give on what set of procedures to choose to make your hair look luxurious?
First of all, if you have hair on your head, you definitely need to take care of it, and shampoo is not enough. You need to have a standard base in your care...This is a shampoo that we choose for your skin type, not your hair. We select a mask, conditioner or balm according to the request, how you want your hair to look like, or to the problem that has already happened to it. Thermal protection and a drop of crystals/fluids/oil must be applied to dry hair to protect it from the environment and the sun/wind/cold. In general, we are waiting for you for cold restoration procedures, because this is a must-have and every self-respecting woman should treat her own hair. If you want aesthetic beauty, you should pay attention to keratin/botox.
Special attention should also be paid to the fact that this spring your studio won the TOP BEAUTY SALON nomination. I congratulate you with all my heart. If every woman on the planet could hear your words now, what message would you like to leave?
Thank you for the congratulations. We also received a “quality mark” this year. I've never participated in Miss World and I don't know what to say to such a big question about a message to all women, but I will say this: "Take care of your hair from a young age, if you have a daughter, start taking care of her hair now, she will thank you later. And don't rub your children's hair with a towel, you're destroying their cuticle layer."
